It Is All About Salad
This is not a review.
I don’t watch much television. Occasionally, but only if recommended by someone as “better than average”. Season 4, episode 9 of ABC’s “The Good Doctor” titled “Irresponsible Salad Bar Practices” is one example.
In the episode, one of the main characters talks about spending a majority of her adult life “making others feel comfortable”; in context this is taken to mean “make others feel comfortable with her”.
Do you spend time in relationships new or old making others feel comfortable? Have you succumbed to the social pressure of being “normal” (whatever the meaning) but secretly want to break out and go do that thing you have always wanted to do but don’t because you are uncomfortable making others feel uncomfortable?
Support from those who count most – Empathy aside, when you start to noticeably change, people around you WILL be uncomfortable. Your predictable behavior gives them certainty, and when you change their certainty is threatened- that is their issue, don’t make it yours else you will find yourself perpetually static in your life, not evolving…it is okay to make people uncomfortable…unintentionally of course!
